After school on Monday, we went for a walk around our neighborhood to look for signs of spring. As an extension of the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge (Phoneography Challenge: My Neighborhood), I gave my iPhone to my five-year-old son and asked him to take photos of what he could find. The signs he saw were primarily floral… wildflowers and blossoming trees. We did see our first lizards of the season, but they were too quick for my son to capture a photo of them.

Here are a few of the photos my son took on our walk…

OK, now I’m really getting ticked off! So easy a 5-year-old can do it?! I may just have to upgrade! Adorable idea
Hahaha! Thanks, Tina!
Really lovely photos! Your son has a eye for it!
Take care,
Patty
Thanks, Patty! I’ll let him know you said so.
Nothing is more cheerful than those California poppies. They make yellow daffodils look shy and retiring.
The poppies are growing more and more beautiful each day as they fill out and expand to cover more and more of the hillsides.

Loved the California Poppies! What a great photographer your son is!!
He LOVES to take photos! It’s fun to watch.
Oh and please congratulate your son for the fine photos! Really for a 5-year old, they are exceptionally good. I know, I gave my little one a camera to shoot and there was nothing close to those you have posted for sure!
Well done! Sharon
I’ll pass along your compliments!
I’m looking at these photos and thinking, this is a glimpse of what it will be like three months from now!
We’re still up to the neck in snow and not a blade of grass to show. Thank you for this warm delightful bursts of colour! Love it. Sharon
We’re having some strange weather here. I kind of feel as if we skipped spring… the temps are forecasted to be in the 80′s this week! I’m still enjoying all the photos of snow that others are posting.
For a 5-year-old the first image is good.
I like that one, too. Now to teach him to leave his finger out of the shot…
