one of the greatest pleasures in life! and one of my favorite memories: my mom and I coming home from the library, both of us with a huge stack of books!
I was going to suggest sharing it on their FB page but it looks like that feature is disabled. You could e-mail the manager from the branch page on the website, or I could forward the link to them.
Yes, he’s truly reading and comprehending. When he’s done with a book, he’ll spend a half hour telling me all about the characters and what happened. It’s interesting… I never really “taught” him to read, except by reading a ton to him, having a book-filled house (my husband and I are always reading 2-3 books at a time), playing letter / word games with him, and providing him with beginning readers when he showed interest. Now he’s reading at a level several years above his age. He loves it!
Thank you for not sitting your child on the couch with an iPad…I want to see more kids read! When I was little my Mom couldn’t get me to take a break from reading books.

Wonderful! I hope my son is creating memories like this, too.
Great shot! You should share this post with the library staff; they’ll love it
I hadn’t thought of that! What’s the best way to share with them?

What a wonderful photo! So sweet and intent on his reading…and what a great bench!
He continued to read on the drive home from the library, and then sat down on the couch and finished the book before dinner.

I was the same way. Still am!
A wonderful sight: a child reading a book – outdoors too!
I hope he took a pile of books home too.
Coral
Always a huge stack!
Wonderful!
