Love the old-school playground equipment. On Corfu two summers ago we came across a playground with all of the old metal equipment, the kind that leaves that lingering metallic smell of oxidation on your hands. That smell triggers some deep olfactory memory for me.
This was always my favorite at the rocket slide park. I liked it because it didn’t involve heights like the slides, and I didn’t have to find someone to push the thing or sit on the other side of it (see-saw) to go for a ride.
I hear because of insurance reasons…boo!
Yep.. fear of litigation takes away all the fun stuff…
Oh what fun! So many have disappeared!
Darn fear of liability, I’m sure…

I can almost taste that smell!
Fun!! Our family reunion spot has one still that the kids spend hours and hours on!
I’m sure the kids love it! And the play will contribute to fond memories of the reunions.

Yes, there’s something to be said for a structure at the park that can be played on alone.
I have an only child, so I can appreciate that!
I am queasy with my memories of spinning round!
I can’t handle spinny rides anymore… they give me a headache immediately! But I LOVED them when I was a kid.
Your son looked like he was having a great time.
I am dizzy with memory. Someone is having so much fun.
My kid LOVES these things!
Yes…..I remember!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
