When our son was a baby, my husband and I walked a lot at Lake Chabot in Castro Valley. Each side of the lake has a 1.5 mile paved trail (the West Shore and East Shore trails), perfect for walking with a stroller. When we would walk the East Shore Trail, almost every time, our son became fussy on the return portion of the path, about 2 miles or so into the out-and-back walk. That’s where this bench is located. I always think of this as my breast-feeding bench with a beautiful view. Every time I walk past it, I remember those days when my son was a baby.

I have used this bench for exactly the same purpose with my daughter who is now three and a half months old
. Thank you for reminding me of this as it has been a month and a half since our last walk there – way too long!
Me, too. For some reason, I haven’t been coming here as much as I used to. After my walk this week, I was reminded of how beautiful it is. I’m going to make a point to walk (or run) here more often.
I could spend the whole day sitting on that bench. Great calming view
Lovely spot and beautiful photographs.
Thank you, Deborah. There are many benches along this trail with views of the lake, but this is one of my favorites.
