Renewal, to me, is when the hills begin to turn green after our first few rains. We typically go for five-six months without rain here in the San Francisco East Bay, so the grasses are pretty brown and thirsty by this time of year. It’s lovely to see the hills “renewing” already!

It is beautiful to see the once brown, barren land stressed by Summer’s heat and Winter’s cold turn green, then a myriad of Spring colors bringing joy to all.
So true.
Beautiful shots! I love how the light illuminates the green blades of grass. When I lived out by the Bay, the rains always meant mushroom picking season!!
If you get a chance, I’d love you to join in our challenge this week too – the theme is wildlife http://www.letsbewild.com/photo-challenge/wild-weekly-photo-challenge-5-wildlife/
Thanks, Nick! Yes, I hiked this morning, and we saw some great mushrooms. I didn’t have my camera with me, but my friend got some great shots with hers. I’ll check out your challenge!
