“Finger paints” reminded me of a book. Have you read Dibs in Search of Self? A book about a child who blossomed through the experience of play therapy.
I had not heard of the book, but I just looked at the description on Amazon. Fascinating. I strongly believe in free play, and we do a lot of it around here!
